About Me

Here's a little bit about me, and how I ended up doing what I love. I have a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Accounting, with over 15 years experience in corporate and cost accounting. I have an aptitude for business, but am creative and love design, so I took design classes at Otis Art Institute.

Then I started a graphic tshirt business. Although I was ahead of many, in terms of understanding accounting, costing and governmental requirements, I had a lot to learn. I found my own way and grew my network of resources. The tshirt business started making a modest amount of money after a couple of years, but I got bored with it, so I recently sold it.

I had also started a second business, an organic plant food for potted plants. Even though the product and industry are entirely different than tshirts, I have been able to easily navigate my way through the unknown because I could apply the methods and lessons I learned while running the tshirt business. I now have a 500 count sample run of my new product and am moving forward with this venture.

Because I’ve been through the process, friends, and friends of friends, have asked for my help in getting their businesses set up. That’s when I realized there wasn’t a concise book that addresses the most basic steps of setting up.  So I wrote The Essential Business Handbook and it turned out exactly like I wanted it to. That led to writing the blog www.minibizbuzz.com , so I could have a platform to present everything about small business that I continued to learn, find, etc…

If you have any questions or comments, let me know, and I’ll keep you posted on my new projects.
